I specialize in teaching gentle and restorative (relaxing) yoga. Most of my students are in the 50-80-year-old age range. Many have never done yoga before. I focus mostly on core strength and balance, as well as hip and shoulder strength and flexibility. All other muscle groups and joints are addressed as well. Because I have always been physically active I have an innate awareness of the body and I really strive to help my students and clients tune in to what is happening in their own bodies. In addition to this, I have also had lots of training in functional body mechanics such as yoga, massage therapeutics and Jin Shin Jyutsu. Often times I can see imbalances in a client’s body and I can help them become aware of the imbalances in order to realign them. The more balanced the body is, the better it actually feels!

Many of my students have relayed how yoga classes at Light Works Yoga have helped them. They share with me how their health practitioners comment on their strength and flexibility and tell them to keep doing what they are doing. I’ve also heard many stories involving balance; people saving themselves from falling after regular yoga practice. One client actually told me that her allergy doctor said her lung capacity had increased since doing yoga.
