About

Hi! I'm Angie Megibben. My goal is to help you keep doing what you want to do. I can assist you in gaining core strength and better balance, as well as finding your best posture to support the joints and surrounding muscle and tissues. Lots of times knee and back pain can be helped with some simple changes to the posture. If you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed or if you feel like your body isn’t able to do the things it used to do, I want to help you take your life back! Your body and mind CAN feel better.
At Light Works Yoga and Therapeutics, you will learn to calm
your mind AND calm your body; you will learn how to strengthen all areas of the body, but also be more flexible at the same time. You will see how using massage therapy and the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu can
address muscle groups that are blocked and holding tension and pain. In short, your body can feel better. Let me show you how.
I’ve been teaching yoga for 11 years. In 2007 I took my first yoga class. I was approaching my 40th birthday and I was experiencing a lot of ongoing back pain and stiffness. My chiropractor suggested that yoga might help. I wasn’t very enthusiastic about trying it. I was under the assumption it was mostly for “older” people and for people who weren’t interested in high intensity workouts. I had participated in running and weight training all my adult life, so surely, I thought, yoga would not be something for me. I went reluctantly. Boy, was I wrong. I couldn’t believe how challenging yoga was. What I realized was that yoga promotes flexibility (of course), but also strength. So actually, yoga was exactly what I needed!
As I said, I was approaching 40 when I was introduced to yoga. My youngest child had just entered kindergarten, and I was contemplating what direction I wanted to take that would allow me to have both a career and be available for my young children. I had taught school before my youngest child was born but I wasn’t sure I wanted to tackle full-time teaching again while being a full-time mom. After about 6 months of yoga practice, my back felt so much better that I decided I wanted to get certified to become an instructor. I wanted to teach, but I wanted to teach something that would help people transform into better versions of themselves. I feel I am my own best testimony!
